The challenge.
Formed over 25 years ago in Melbourne, Agent Oriented Software Pty Ltd (AOS) is a leading AI and robotics company specialising in developing autonomous systems for defence (air, missile and electronic warfare) and agriculture (Kelpie® autonomous ground vehicle).
A sophisticated tech business like AOS needs an exceptional website to stand out online, which is why they approached our Sky High Digital team to help design a new website that would be visually appealing and optimised for an outstanding user experience.
After talking to their team, we learned that we needed to perform a full website migration, moving data from their previous platform to a new WordPress website, one that would properly showcase their industry insights and products.
Our approach.
The first step in this website building process was a detailed investigation into what AOS wanted to achieve with their new website. Software and robotics are complicated topics, which is why we worked closely with their team to gain an in-depth understanding of their products so they would be properly represented on their website. This involved undertaking a significant research process, learning what potential customers are looking for, searching for robotics and autonomous software, and embedding industry keywords across each page.
Our next step was to begin creating the structure and framework for the website, designing each page to create the best possible user experience. From creating compelling calls to action to selecting fonts and colour schemes that would best reflect their brand, we worked to create a visually-engaging site that the company loved while ensuring it was optimised to convert their traffic into customers.
With the structure in place, it was time to start populating the pages with content. We built distinct pages for the industries that AOS serves and for the solutions they provide. This proved invaluable for helping new website visitors quickly locate their areas of interest.
Following discussions between AOS and our research team, we were able to build unique pages for each of the products that the company offers. These pages were supported by imagery and branding elements that work to enhance the user experience, allowing them to visualise these products and services while learning about them on each page.
Part of the content-building process was migrating a large number of research articles, news updates and product manuals from the old website to the new WordPress platform. Our goal was to display items on the new site in a more engaging format using updated imagery while keeping the content of each piece intact. We also built a dedicated support section on their website that houses all of their downloadable material in one place, making it easy for clients to quickly find what they need.
Our final step in this process was conducting a full search engine optimisation (SEO) process to ensure the website performed well for the user and Google and Bing search engines. We ensured the page structure, schema, metadata and headlines were all optimised with best practice SEO, helping search engines to properly access each page and identify AOS as a leader in their industry. We also set up the website on a professional-grade, secure website hosting platform and connected this new platform to Google Analytics and Google Search Console, so their team could understand exactly how potential customers are reaching their website.
